Diagnosed; On treatment; Virally suppressed
Reach 95% on each of these processes
These three 95 are a common target for the world to achieve toward 2025.
- Diagnosed: 95% of all people living with HIV will know their HIV status.
- On treatment: 95% of all people with diagnosed HIV infection will receive sustained antiretroviral therapy.
- Virally suppressed: 95% of all people receiving antiretroviral therapy will have continually viral suppression.
If all these 3 targets could be achieved, 95%×95%×95%=85% of HIV positive people could achieve the status of U=U, and the annually new infections of HIV would decrease to 370k, below a quarter of 2020 amount.
However, according to the statistics from UN, these three numbers are around 84%-87%-90% in 2020, so the undetectable (U=U) people are only 66% of the total positive group.
